We hope that your visits to our office are relaxing and enjoyable, for you and for your children. We recognize that some children have an irrational fear of the dentist’s office, and we do all that we can to make their visits peaceful, starting when they are very young. Here are some bits of data about what you can expect when you bring your infant to our office for a visit for the first time.
Because your child should visit our office for the first time between half of a year and twelve months of age, they will need to sit on your lap as you sit in the dental chair. The dentist will check your child’s pearly whites and jaws to make sure that they are growing appropriately. They will next observe the child’s mouth for any tooth decay, injuries or developmental problems. If everything looks right, the dentist will clean your baby’s teeth and give you a few pieces of advice on sustaining your child’s oral health so that they can grow into healthy teeth that will stay with them for a lifetime with proper care.
