In order to best protect the health and safety of patients and staff, our dental office, Pediatric Dentistry South in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania will not provide routine, non-urgent or non-emergency services to patients who present at the office exhibiting symptoms of respiratory or other illness or other contagious conditions. Patients experiencing illness or a contagious condition are asked to contact the office as soon as possible prior to their scheduled appointment so that the appointment with our dentists, Dr. Courtney Uselton and associates, may be rescheduled.
Urgent or emergency services will be provided on a case-by-case basis at the sole discretion of Pediatric Dentistry South based on our ability to safely treat the patient without transmitting the illness or other contagious condition to patients or team members. Such patients are asked to contact Pediatric Dentistry South at 412-257-1150 as soon as possible to determine whether the patient’s needs can be accommodated or whether the patient needs to be referred to another office or provider.
Vaccination Policy:
To provide a safer environment for our patients, and to ensure that the care we provide is in line with the Pediatric Medical Society, the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Pediatric Dentistry South is implementing the following policies and procedures regarding vaccinations. Effective September 1, 2018, we will no longer accept patients who have not received all vaccinations recommended by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices, the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and the AAP. The only exception to this policy will be for patients who provide a valid and documented medical reason for not receiving the recommended vaccinations.
For those current patients who have not been vaccinated, please be advised that we will not be able to provide additional treatment (except for emergency care) beyond your next scheduled appointment and until the patient has received all recommended vaccinations. Because Pediatric Dentistry South is unable to provide dental care for children who have not been vaccinated, you may wish to contact the Dental Society of Western Pennsylvania at 412-321-5810 for help in locating a new provider.
